Business GrowthSales and Marketing Balance your Social Media Advertising!

There is no doubt in my mind that social media advertising is the way to go when marketing your online personal training business (as well as any other aspect of your business); however, there is a fine line between letting people know about your business and being just plain annoying LOL.

We all have those people on our Facebook timeline, Twitter feed, or Instagram feed that are posting exactly what they are doing, what they are eating, and how they are feeling at every minute of the day (no offence if this is you), but this tends to get quite annoying and tends to get you “unfollowed” or “blocked”.

Balance your Social Media Advertising!

When it comes to advertising your business, you need to be careful of doing the same thing. Don’t just keep posting things like weight loss tips, recipes, exercises, testimonials etc.  There is no question that people do enjoy these things if you are providing valid information, however, when it is constantly clogging up a newsfeed, it might not be taken as sincere and people will stop paying attention to your posts.

Here are 3 Tips to Advertise you Business Through Social Media Without “Annoying” your Followers and Friends:

1. Choose the most popular times of day to post content

As you start to post more and more content, you will begin to notice the time of day that seems to be the best to post to your specific niche based on the number of views/shares/likes.  For the most part stick within those popular times to avoid post overload.

2. Create a posting schedule

This could be something like the infamous #flexfriday or #throwbackthursday. Why not create your own? Every Monday you post some kind of healthy recipe, Tuesday’s could be a testimonial, Wednesday could be an example of a quick 20 minute home workout program or something along those lines.  Always link these tips back to your website, so that once people are done reading the information you provided they might stick around on your website to see what else you are all about.

3. Find a way to advertise your business (especially online training) without directly saying it

You don’t have to advertise by saying “Hey everyone, guess what…. I DO ONLINE TRAINING!! COME SIGN UP WITH ME!” LOL. Although this could work and if it does by all means good for you! In my experience the best way to get the attention of your social media circle is to post things like testimonials with before and after pictures and captions telling people how this person made all of this progress through your online training program.  You could also post things like recipes stating that one of your online training clients created it and you thought you should share.  This gives people something they are interested in and also let’s them think, ‘wait, they do online training?’ without having to come out directly and say it.

Those are just a few tips,  but I’m sure their are many many more. To be honest I am still learning the ropes too, but from my experience so far I have managed to use social media as one of my main advertising tools. It helps me turn suspicious people into paying customers from all over the world!
