Habit and Lifestyle CoachingNutrition CoachingPersonal Training / Fitness Programming The Coach Report 2025: Fitness, Nutrition, and Coaching Trends Powered by ABC Trainerize

Pull up a chair, Coach. 2025 gave us a lot to talk about.

This year was filled with movement, momentum, routines that stuck, and conversations that mattered. Across the ABC Trainerize community, clients showed up for their health in big and small ways — and coaches were there for all of it.

This is The Coach Report. A look at what coaching made possible in 2025, told through the moments, habits, workouts, and trends that defined the year.

Coaching Went Global in 2025

Coaching did not stay in one place this year. It went everywhere.

In 2025, coaches using ABC Trainerize supported clients across 194 countries, creating one of the most globally connected coaching communities in fitness. From early morning sessions to late night check-ins, coaching happened across time zones, cultures, and continents.

No matter where clients were working toward better health, a coach was right there with them.

Movement Was the Main Character

If there was one thing clients committed to this year, it was moving their bodies.

Walking led the way with 33.6 million walks tracked, enough steps to climb Mount Everest more than 2,800 times if each walk were a single step. Running followed with 7.2 million runs, which breaks down to roughly 800 runs every hour, all year long. Cycling added another 3.33 million rides, the equivalent of about 166,500 spin classes.

When clients were not heading outside, they were pressing play. Beginner Mat Pilates with Lindsay became the most popular on-demand workout of the year, proving that accessible, confidence-building movement goes a long way—alongside favorites like Nathan’s Bodyweight Core Finisher and Bianca’s Full Body Strength workout.

Behind the scenes, coaches kept content fresh and engaging by updating 1,300 exercise videos and creating 223.6K new programs. That is enough programming to give someone a brand-new workout every week for more than 600 years.

No repeats required.

Sessions, Scheduling, and Showing Up

Coaching in 2025 was anything but passive.

Clients scheduled 3.86 million appointments, with the average session lasting 2.4 hours. That is a lot of time spent coaching, listening, problem-solving, and celebrating wins.

Video coaching played a huge role too. Coaches and clients spent 99K minutes on video calls this year. That equals 694 days of nonstop conversation — nearly two full years of face-to-face support.

Some cities were especially chatty. Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Los Angeles topped the list as the most talkative cities of 2025. Accountability was alive and well.

The Workouts and Exercises Clients Loved

Every year brings a few standouts, and 2025 was no different.

Alongside the most-streamed workouts, one exercise quickly stole the spotlight. The Hack Squat, newly released in Collections, became the most requested exercise of the year and found its way into programs everywhere.

When it came to content, clients kept returning to a mix of strength, stability, and full-body training. Mat Beginner Pilates with Lindsay, Bodyweight Core Finisher with Nathan, and Full Body Strength Workout with Bianca rounded out the most-streamed content of the year.

Nutrition and Hydration Took Center Stage

Nutrition quietly powered progress throughout 2025.

Clients tracked 1.5 million meals, turning awareness into consistency. They also created 126.2K grocery lists, making it easier to turn goals into everyday choices. Chicken, as usual, took the top spot for food tracking.

The United States earned the title of hungriest country with 220K meals tracked, while hydration efforts were just as impressive. Clients logged 3,344,035 litres of water, with the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia leading the way.

Small choices, repeated often, made a big difference.

Habits That Made a Difference

Movement gets people started. Habits keep them going.

In 2025, clients completed 11.25 million habits, reinforcing routines that support long-term health. Some habits clearly rose to the top, including eating protein, practicing a bedtime ritual, unplugging before bed, and prioritizing self care.

When it came to rest, a few countries truly leaned in. Montserrat, Myanmar, Liberia, and Ireland topped the list as the sleepiest countries of the year.

Small actions. Big impact. Coaches helped clients stay consistent when it mattered most.

Connected Coaching, Powered by Tech

Technology continued to enhance the coaching experience. Clients connected 516K Apple Watches, 117K Garmin devices, and 120K Fitbit devices, helping coaches better understand activity, movement, and consistency.

Wearables, tracking tools, and coaching insights worked together to create more personalized and effective programs.
