After some unexpected changes to Apple’s App Store submission guidelines, our team was inspired to think differently about how we deliver custom branded apps.
Working closely with Apple to ensure we met their updated submission guidelines, we put all our energy into building a solution that will allow trainers and gym owners like you to stand out from the crowd and build their personal brands like never before.

Today, we are excited to announce the upcoming release of an all-new version of Trainerize iOS custom branded fitness apps.
Apple-verified and packed with customizable features, this new version will truly help you take your online personal training business to the next level.

here’s what you need to know.
Making the Switch
To start using the new version of Trainerize iOS custom branded fitness apps, all account owners, trainers, and clients will need to download the new Trainerize Fitness app, available in the Apple App Store mid-September, 2017. All account owners, trainers, and clients will need to be fully migrated by mid-October.
Next-Level Customization, Baked Right In
Included in the new version of Trainerize custom branded fitness apps is all the customization you want and need to differentiate your business.
- Personalized phone screen icon
- In-app branding and logos
- Custom splash screen on log-in
- Unique app download and embed links
Plus, all future updates to Trainerize custom branded fitness apps are also included and available for install immediately on release.
When first downloaded, the icon for the new version of the app will appear with Trainerize branding, but after each user’s first log-in, the icon will automatically update to your custom branded icon.
The Next Steps
Early September 2017
As of September 1, 2017, your current custom branded fitness app will no longer receive updates, though you can continue to use the app in its current format while you wait for the new version to be released. You’ll have plenty of time to make the switch, and our Trainerize Coaches will be there to help every step of the way. We’ll reach out in the following weeks to provide more detailed information about timing and next steps.
Mid-September 2017
The new version of Trainerize iOS custom branded fitness apps will be released mid-September 2017. You’ll be contacted when the new version is available for download, at which point, account owners can install the new app and login to automatically apply their customization.
We’ll send along some reminders when it’s time to make the switch, and to help get the ball rolling switching clients over, we’ve set up automated emails that account owners can generate, notifying clients and trainers to also download and log into the new app.
Mid-October
2017
All account owners, trainers, and clients will need to make the switch by mid-October 2017 when all old custom apps will be flagged for removal from the Apple App Store. If you, your trainers, or your clients are struggling to make the switch, our team of Trainerize Coaches will be available to help.
Custom Apps for Everyone
We also have major news about pricing and custom app availability!
The new Trainerize custom app will now be available to all paid plans. This means that no matter your business size, you can now add a custom app to your plan as an extra tool to help your business stand out from the crowd.
This important change enables you to choose the right plan for your business.
If you have less than 30 clients and are currently signed up for a custom app, one of our our Trainerize Coaches will be reaching out to help make sure you are on the right plan for your business size.
Good news for those of you that have already submitted your assets (both those approved and pending), there will be no additional costs associated with the new version of Trainerize custom branded fitness apps.
Future Plans
Also in the pipeline is a plan for us to build tailor-made apps for enterprise-level and franchise businesses. These apps will include additional features and customization targeted to large business needs.
