Coaching and ServicesNutrition Coaching Using Trainerize to Help Clients Improve Nutrition

trainerize for nutrition

We all know that nutrition is a major part of helping someone on a weight loss, weight gain, or just overall health improvement journey.

BUT.

It is also probably the hardest part for many trainers and clients. In my experience, working with both in-person and online personal training clients, I have found that many people are able to show up to their workouts or follow their Trainerize workouts much easier than locking in their nutrition.

That being said, all of the tools that Traineize has built in app have made it much easier for both myself as a coach and for my personal training clients to stay on point with their nutrition while training with me. And you can do it too!

Here are the top 3 Trainerize tools I use to support client nutrition:

Meal Tracker / MyFitnessPal Integration

Prior to the new meal tracker integration, the MyFitnessPal integration has been a large part of my nutrition coaching in being able to see day to day what my clients are eating.  I really like how I can pull up a client’s training calendar and at a glance see their macro splits for each day as well as get more in-depth information if I need it.

With the new meal tracker feature, it will be much easier for my clients to track their meals (even take pictures of their meals for me to see) right inside their Trainerize app.  My coaching clients have reported that they are more likely to stick to their eating plan because they know that I am looking at it each day.  This is the extra motivation and most importantly accountability to eating clean and really getting to their goals and feeling more connected to their coach.

Habit Coaching

I love the habit coaching feature in the app and use it for all of my Trainerize clients.  After doing an initial assessment with a client and getting to know more about their current habits and goals, I schedule habits into their calendar each week.  The clients will get a reminder each day and can check off each of these healthy habits once they have completed them.  Not only does it give them a nice little reminder, but also gives them another feeling of accomplishment and remind them that it’s about the “little things” too, not just their workouts.

Some examples of habits I set for my training clients are: drinking water, eating protein, step goals, outside movement, sleep, and meal prep. I set these based on each individual client to ensure their success when working with me and building an overall healthy lifestyle.

Meal Plan Attachments

Another great feature that I have been using in the Trainerize app for a really long time is meal plan attachments.  I love the ease of being able to upload my meal plans right into the app for the clients to be able to view on their phone or print out.

Whether you are doing a generic challenge or meal plan or upload personalized meal plans for each client; you can upload a PDF that you have created or one from partners like Evolution Nutrition. You can also use Trainerize’s Smart Meal Planner, which generates meal plans according to clients’ goals.

If you run a challenge where you will be providing every client with a standard meal plan, Trainerize Pay has made it really easy to set up and automate! Once a client pays for your challenge, the meal plan will be automatically added to their account.  This is such an awesome feature for creating passive income, because clients will be set up in their programs even if they purchase while you are asleep.

I hope this helps break down how I use all the different Trainerize features to help my clients not only improve their nutrition and accountability, but also reach their goals (aka happy clients!).
